Questions and Answers

What is included in the accommodation price?

The prices shown are per accommodation for one week.  It will include maid service (as specified on the individual accommodation description), all bed linen and bathroom towels.  Pool towels are not provided unless specified otherwise, cot linen is not provided unless specified otherwise and a welcome hamper is not provided unless specified. The prices do not include flights, car hire, airport transfers, pool heating, air conditioning or holiday insurance. 

Is the Pool heated at the accommodation?

If there is heating available at the accommodation you will be staying at, this is an additional extra (unless specified) and must be booked in advance if required. The cost varies from accommodation to accommodation, so please ask for a quote. It is important to remember that if you decide to have a pool heated in the cooler months, the heating will only commence on your arrival and this normally takes a few days to get to the optimal temperature.

Is there air conditioning at the accommodation?

If the accommodation you have chosen has air conditioning installed, the individual accommodation description will show this information.   You will need to ask for the price for this additional facility at the time of booking enquiry.

What should I do if I break something/soil something at the villa, or notice that something is broken/soiled when I arrive?

It is of uttermost importance that you advise the accommodation manager if you notice that something is broken/soiled so that they can arrange for the item to be replaced and ensure that you are not charged for the item. If you break something or soil any items, again, it is of uttermost importance that you contact the accommodation manager immediately so that they can replace the item for you.  It is advisable to pay them directly for the replacement to avoid a deduction from your security deposit and a delay in returning it to you. Please remember to ask for a receipt should you decide to claim on your travel insurance.

Do Algarvian-HolidayRentals arrange flights for my stay?

Algarvian-HolidayRentals does not arrange a flight booking service.

What is the best airport to fly into?

The best airport to fly to is Faro International, although Lisbon International Airport is a 2 hour drive down to the Algarve.

Will someone meet us at the airport?

No, Algarvian-HolidayRentals will not be at the airport to greet you.  Should you have arranged airport transfers to your accommodation via Algarvian-HolidayRentals, we will provide you with the point of contact at the airport.

How do I find our booked accommodation?

It is highly advisable with all our accommodations on Algarvian-HolidayRentals that you hire a car for the duration of your stay and Algarvian-HolidayRentals will provide you with written directions with your travel documentation. Hire cars can be arranged through us or independently should you so wish.  Airport transfers can arranged and hire cars be delivered to the accommodation if required. Please make sure you let Algarvian-HolidayRentals know if you need to book a child seat for the car hire or transfers at the time of booking.  One forward facing car seat or booster seat is available free of charge.  For additional car seats/booster seats, these can be provided for a small additional charge.  Please note for guests travelling in peak season, mid July to the end of August, it is advisable to orangise your car hire sooner rather than later to ensure your chosen group vehicle is available for the duration of your stay.

What time can I arrive at the accommodation?

On your arrival day, the villa is prepared for your arrival by the maid(s) and can still be in progress until 15.00 or 16.00 hours local time. If you do arrive at the villa early, it may be possible to leave your bags at the accommodation and return to the accommodation at the designated check in time. Please remember that guests leaving your booked accommodation on your arrival day are allowed to stay at the accommodation until 10.00 hours local time, hence the allocated check-in time.  This enables the maid(s) time to ensure that the accommodation is of the highest standard for your arrival

What time can we leave the accommodation on our day of departure?

Check out for all the accommodations is no later than 10.00 hours local time.  This is to ensure that the accommodation is ready for the arrival of incoming clients.  On the rare occasion a late check out is possible, but this cannot be confirmed until you are at the accommodation and the accommodation manager will confirm whether this is possible or not. Please remember that if you are advised that it is not possible to stay at the accommodation later than 10.00 hours local time and you do not vacate the premises on time, a charge will be levied and deducted from your security deposit.

How often is the maid service?

This varies from accommodation to accommodation so please see the individual accommodation description.  Please remember that maids do not work Sundays or bank holidays and the accommodation must be vacated for the maid service.  Full details as to when this will be will be in your accommodation.

Do we need to bring our own towels?

Every accommodation has a supply of bathroom towels. Some accommodations provide towels for use by the pool, but you must bring your beach towels with you.  Please check the individual accommodation description to see whether pool towels are provided. No towels provided at any of the accommodations are to be taken to the beach.

I will require some baby equipment such as a cot and high chair for my infant - will this be available within the accommodation?

Some accommodations provide baby equipment; please check the individual accommodation descriptions for items that are available.   All required available items must be requested at the time of booking confirmation and paid for at the time of booking confirmation. For accommodations that do not provide baby equipment, Algarvian-HolidayRentals can forward you details of a local business that provides baby equipment for hire along with the provision of a baby welcome hamper if required.
